Considering the direction Rose’s career has talen over the last few years, it’s no surprise he’s been on the wrong side of memes and jokes. Usually, the former MVP point-guard ignores the noise. This time, however, he decided to respond in a rather agressive sort of way.
In a chat with ESPN’s Nick Friedell, Rose told all the haters he really doesn’t care what they think…
“This is how I feel about it, the whole perspective on it: You could have your perspective on me, as far as I’m a bum, I can’t play, I can’t shoot, this and that, all right, cool,” he said, according to ESPN.com’s Nick Friedell. “I have no hard feelings with that. I’m cool with that. [If] that’s how you feel, that’s how you feel, but at the same time, I don’t need your f–king validation. I know who I am, I know what type of player I am. So you respect that and I respect that [point of view] and we should be good. That’s how I feel about it.”
Boom… how ’bout that? He doesn’t need our validation.
Derrick Rose is done with all the scrutiny. For the first time in a while, he’s ready to finally focus on basketball. This time, let’s hope it translates into the resurrection of his already fantastic career.
